Dr. Jana Helbig to head the German Centre Delhi.Gurgaon

Munich/Stuttgart – Jana Helbig (38) has been appointed new managing director of the German Centre Delhi.Gurgaon effective 1 December 2014. She is taking over the position from Martin Fuchs, who after four-and-a-half years is pursuing new career opportunities in Germany for personal reasons.

Jana Helbig, who has a doctorate in business administration, has been professionally involved with India and German companies in India since 2005. She worked –at the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce in Düsseldorf and Mumbai, India. The main focus of her duties involved advising and supporting German companies on the Indian market and promoting German-Indian economic relations. Jana Helbig was born in Lutherstadt Eisleben. After completing a banking traineeship, she studied business administration and international business with a focus on emerging and developing markets, graduating with an MBA from the TU Bergakadamie Freiberg. She worked at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg as a research associate from August 2009 onwards. In her doctoral thesis she analysed the economic structures of the Indian subcontinent, in particular the requirements and complications German companies face when establishing a subsidiary in India.
