Very few people have as deep an understanding of private customer and savings bank business in Baden-Württemberg as Michael Horn: Born in Stuttgart, he studied economics in Tübingen and started his career at Kreissparkasse Böblingen. In 1986, he joined Sparkasse Ravensburg where he subsequently became a member of the Board of Managing Directors and later Deputy Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors. This was followed by stints as Managing Director of Württembergischer Sparkassen- und Giroverband (the Savings Banks and Giro Association of Württemberg) and of Sparkassenverband Baden-Württemberg (the Savings Banks Association of Baden-Württemberg). In 2002, he became a member of the Board of Managing Directors of LBBW responsible for private customers and savings banks. In 2005, he was named Deputy Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors. Since 2008, Mr Horn has additionally served as Honorary Consul of Brazil in the German state of Baden-Württemberg.
