at Landesbank Baden-Württemberg.

Please make yourself familiar with our general notes on data protection (Privacy Policy) which we have compiled for you below. These notes cover your visit to the website of Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW).

It is important to us that you feel safe during your visit to our site. For this reason, we take the protection of your personal data very seriously. The protection of your privacy during the processing of personal data is one of our key concerns.

The collection, storage and use of your personal data is governed by the statutory data protection provisions. We will adhere to LBBW's Privacy Policy. Your statutory rights remain unaffected

Please note that LBBW's web pages contain links to other websites of interest. These sites are not governed by our Privacy Policy. We will strive to ensure insofar as is possible that websites linked to our own represent our values. However, we have no influence on the content and adherence to data protection provisions by the providers of such sites. If you visit another website, please look at the privacy statement applicable to that website.

Personal Data

Personal data

Personal data are information about the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person. They include, for example, a person's name, address, e-mail address or telephone number.

Anonymized or pseudonymized data

Your personal data can be anonymized. This means that the data is changed in such a way that it cannot be cross-referenced and allocated to a particular person or that a disproportionately large effort is required to achieve this end. Data is pseudonymized if the name or other personal information has been fully erased and replaced.

Collection, storage, use and passing-on of personal data

We collect, store, process and use personal data:

  • if we need it to help us provide you with our services
  • in order to check whether you are authorized to access protected web pages
  • for registration on our website
  • to contact you and
  • to send you information on products and services.

We will only use your data for these stated purposes.

Visiting our information pages

If you visit our information pages on the Internet, we will store your PC's IP address for a short period. The IP address is a PC's individual address in a computer network. This allows you to take advantage of our online information offerings at any time without having to disclose your data.

Use of Onlinebanking

In order to facilitate your banking transactions we offer you a range of transaction services, such as BW Onlinebanking, HBCIbanking and the Business Portal. To use these services, for your own safety you will be requested to enter your personal access data (user name and password) when you log on. This protected login allows us to identify you and so prevent unauthorized use of your accounts.

During transactions (for example, transfers) we store and archive all transaction data so that the transaction can be reconstructed if necessary. In addition to the access data, this includes for instance the amount transferred and data on how you have used the service (for example, with regard to BW Onlinebanking).

In the context of the provision of services through the BW Financial Manager, user data and other customer parameters are stored and evaluated using a variety of criteria. By activating the BW Financial Manager the customer grants BW-Bank permission to analyze data relating to the customer's account movements and use them to inform the customer of suitable offers and product information.

Use of our other Internet offerings

We will only store your personal data if you provide the information voluntarily. This is the case, for example, if:

  • you register (for example, for a newsletter)
  • you participate in a survey or a competition
  • you submit enquiries or suggestions by completing a contact form or sending an e-mail or
  • you give us a mandate.

In these cases, you give us your data voluntarily. In so doing, you yourself make the decision to give us your name and other personal information (such as date of birth, address, e-mail address or telephone number). You are not required to disclose this information to us. Please remember, however, that we can only provide you with the products, services or information you have requested if we know your data.

We will only send you our newsletter if you have agreed to it. To verify your acceptance, we will send you a link to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. You may cancel the newsletter at any time. Information on how to unsubscribe can be found at the end of each newsletter.

E-mail/contact forms

If you send us an e-mail or a message via a contact form, we will store and use your data. This data includes, for example, your name, date of birth, address, e-mail address and telephone number. We will use your data only for our services and only for communicating with you.

Your personal data are protected when you use our transaction services (for example, BW Internet banking or HBCIbanking). Data transmitted via the Internet is encrypted. Encryption prevents unauthorized persons from viewing your data.

Please note that if you send us personal data in an e-mail, data transmitted in this way via the Internet is not secure. It is possible that unauthorized persons might read or tamper with your data.

Your right to change your mind

You may withdraw your permission for us to use your data at any time. This applies, for example, to any personal data you may have divulged to us during promotions such as competitions. We use the data gained through promotions of this kind to allow us to inform you of our services and products. We also use your data to ask you questions about our products and services. This helps us to make our products even better.

Of course, participation in such promotions is voluntary. If you do not want your data to be used for advertising purposes or in surveys, simply let us know. We will then block or delete your data. Further information on how this works can be found on the relevant web page.

You may withdraw your agreement to the collection, processing and use of your personal data at any time. This means that your personal data will be blocked or deleted if, for example, you have given it to us when subscribing to a newsletter. You will then no longer receive our newsletters.

Deletion of these data does not have an impact on your customer data: Information required for your transactions with us (for example, for the maintenance of your accounts) will not be deleted.

Passing-on of your personal data

The trust you are showing us is very important to us. It is for this reason that we protect your personal data very carefully. We use your personal data only for internal purposes and for our business relationship with you and will only pass this data on with your consent, unless we are forced to pass it on to public-sector bodies or authorities as a result of legal provisions or court measures.

All LBBW employees and service providers are obliged to maintain confidentiality and banking secrecy. Moreover, all employees and service providers must adhere to the data protection provisions and to our guidelines.

Security in the processing of personal data

We always ensure the highest degree of security in the collection or processing of your data. LBBW uses technical and organizational measures to ensure the security of its data. In this way, we protect your data against manipulation, loss, destruction and against unauthorized access. We improve our measures for your security on an ongoing basis and always adapt them to latest technological developments.

Right of information

If requested, we will provide you with information on all the personal data we have collected from you free of charge. Moreover, you can correct, update, delete or block errors and inaccurate data at any time.

Use of YouTube videos

We use the provider YouTube for the embedding of videos on some of our web pages. YouTube is a service of US company Google Inc. We use embedded YouTube videos in extended data protection mode on our web pages. YouTube provides this extended data protection mode, thereby guaranteeing that YouTube saves no cookies containing personal data on your computer as long as you do not click on any videos to play them on the YouTube video player.
